Howdy! I'm Kara Johnson, a Software Engineer and Technical Artist focused on building pipeline tools for Games and Virtual Production.

Throughout my career, I have developed strong skills in writing C++ and Python plugins for motion capture and digital content creation (DCC) software, including Unreal Engine 5, Maya, and Houdini. I love being able to contribute to immersive storytelling projects, whether it's helping actors and directors on the capture stage or coding automation scripts for animation and cinematics teams. I have a deep passion for supporting artists and developers and aim to continue building my career within Virtual Production for films or games.

I'm a Texas A&M graduate - Gig 'em! - and besides working on my side projects, I love playing sports and running on the beach. In my remaining free time, you can find me going on camping and hiking adventures, playing video games, or strumming my guitar.
